The arachnarok of the Webspinner Shaman also got 2 extra wounds, upgraded its fangs to 3 damage and now has a flat, non-degrading 10” move – this is a nice change for all of the big spiders. The warscroll spell here got a little bit worse as it’s +1 to the mortal wounds done by the target unit rather than double, but remember that doubling ability is now a command trait. Yes, you can make the Scuttleboss do 6 mortal wounds for every 6 to hit. Battleline This unit can use this veteran ability once per battle in your hero phase if it is more than 9" from all enemy units. This unit can make a normal move. Kragnos gets reprinted here and remains Kragnos. He loves to charge in nice and early with some other big scary melee threats to take advantage of his 3d6” charge aura, and the newly juiced up squigs should suit this purpose nicely if you’re Kragnos-inclined. At the start of the hero phase, each player can attempt to dispel 1 endless spell with each friendly WIZARD and friendly PRIEST. The player whose turn is taking place makes all of their dispelling attempts first. If a WIZARD attempts to dispel an endless spell, they can attempt to cast or unbind 1 fewer spell in that hero phase. If a PRIEST attempts to dispel an endless spell, they can chant 1 fewer prayer in that hero phase. The same player cannot attempt to dispel the same endless spell more than once per phase. LINKED : This endless spell must remain within 1" of the model that summoned it. For rules purposes, this endless spell and the model that summoned it are treated as a single model that uses that model’s warscroll, with the addition of the abilities on this warscroll.

Battleforce: Gloomspite Gitz – Stampeding Squigalanche

A messenger from the Loonking’s court has arrived, tasking you with retrieving a haul of loonstone that the Bad Moon will shower upon the land in a month’s time. Succeed, and you’ll be granted a fancy new lair. First, though, you’ll need to actually find the Bad Moon...At the start of each hero phase, roll a dice. If the score is less than the number of friendly GLOOMSPITE GITZ HEROES affected by the light of the Bad Moon, you gain 1 quest point.During deployment, instead of setting up this unit on the battlefield, you can place it to one side and say that it is set up hidden as a reserve unit. You can set up 1 unit hidden in this manner for each friendly MOONCLAN GROT unit consisting of 5 or more models that is on the battlefield and that does not have the SQUIG or FANATIC keyword. While other friendly SPIDERFANG units are wholly within 12" of the bearer, add 1 to the number of mortal wounds caused by the Spider Venom ability of those units if the unmodified hit roll was 6. Roll 2 dice instead of 1 when making a brewing roll for this shroom. If the roll is odd, add the result to your concoction score as normal. If the roll is even, subtract the result from your concoction score instead. Veteran Gitz players will notice that three of the old moon buffs have been cut, and the extra CP and cast bonuses will be rough to lose, but we promise good news from here on in. At the start of the second, third and fourth battle rounds, instead of rolling to determine how many moves the Bad Moon will make, the Gloomspite Gitz player rolls 1 dice to determine which location it will move to. The top locations correspond to a roll of 1-3, the bottom locations correspond to a roll of 4-6. If a player has an ability that lets them affect how the Bad Moon moves, it has no effect during this battle.

Judging by the FAQ, this isn’t likely to change, sadly, as the FAQ is one of the longest of the bunch, but is instead almost entirely devoted to how their Bad Moon mechanic works, which is maybe a bad sign if your new edition FAQ is devoted to explaining a nearly 2 year old mechanic. Anyway, let’s take a look at what the FAQ has in store for everyone’s favorite (smaller) greenskins. There are a mountain of warscrolls here, so this isn’t an exhaustive list of everything in the book and everything that’s changed. Heroes Lunar Squigs: While GLOOMSPITE GITZ SQUIG units are affected by the Light of the Bad Moon they can attempt a charge even if they ran in the same turn. With a new book coming out during “winter” it is impossible to say if this force will be competitive, but the box itself follows the “rule of cool” putting in some of the best models to build and paint in all of Sigmar. Unlike some other boxes released all of the models are new or resculpts. Due to the thematic unity this is a great box to get if you are thinking about getting into gitz or Age of Sigmar in general. More experienced loonboss’s will need to count how many mangler squigs they have. The value of this box for experienced gitz players goes up significantly if Mangler Squigs become conditional battleline. Nighthaunt

If the warscroll used by a model says that it can fly, you can ignore other models and terrain features when you trace the path of its move across the battlefield (it flies over them). In addition, when a model that can fly starts or finishes a move on a terrain feature, instead of tracing its move across the battlefield, you can trace it ‘through the air’, as shown in the diagram below.Deep in a subterranean cave, you encounter a blind and withered Brewgit. The wise-grot asks you to bring him a specific combination of rare shrooms. If you do so, he will pay you in precious glassware to store future potions in, as well as share some of his potent brews.Roll 3 times on the Rare Shrooms table and make a note of the results in your quest log. These are the shrooms the Brewgit has tasked you to find. For each roll of 1-3, you need only find 1 of those types rather than D3. Adding on to this you won’t be able to go wrong with just about any other box available to the army; there’s not anything that immediately leaps out as a must-buy yet. MOONCLAN unit only. This unit can use this veteran ability once per battle at the start of the shooting phase or combat phase if it is affected by the Light of the Bad Moon. This unit has a ward of 5+ until the end of that phase. The models in Zarbag’s Gitz are Drizgit da Squig Herder, Prog da Netter, Dibbz, Redkap, Stikkit, Gobbaluk and Bonekrakka. Where this box does succeed is its choice in foot troops. Both Bladegheist Revenants and Dreadscythe Harridans are the stars of the faction, and this can get you started with both of them. Many lists run somewhere around 40 of one or the other (user’s choice), but you can certainly mix them up, too. Grimghast reapers used to be the army’s golden child and have fallen off a bit since then, but for starting off they’re certainly fine.
