About this deal

This is Craig as we've never seen him before - the always-positive showman, baring his soul for the first time.

From the outside, nobody would know anything about Craig's struggles as I am sure he always comes across as a very upbeat and positive person, always wanting to please everyone which he freely admits to, but sometimes he has had to learn to say no, to protect himself from taking on too much.Although he's well-known for his explosion into the garage scene, his banging songs, incredible writing skills and stunning vocals, Craig is also a hugely talented DJ - having performed his TS5 set all over the world.

A little bit of memoir (with a few hundred words on Leigh Francis) but the clue to this book is that it's on the Happy Place imprint.

Craig may not have been a big winner at the 2001 BRIT Awards, but he won big with the support of his fellow music artists. Craig's first album was definitely hard to beat and his second, 'Slicker Than Your Average', was released in 2002.

For me personally I absolutely loved this book, it was amazing to see someone talk openly about their mental health and their struggles and what they do to overcome it.Those that say Craig’s making a comeback are the ones who stepped away; not going beyond the song 7 Days. I don't usually read autobiographies, however I have always loved Craig David and wanted to give this a try. Great read if you want to know more about Craig's background, especially if you are a big fan like I am. But I feel privileged now - after a lot of interesting twists and turns along the way - to share my journey with you. Because now I’ve got a following of people who are like ‘we know your character, we know who you are and we know how you carry yourself’ so now it’s about how you can help people, how can you be of service?

From what I could comprehend, it was a nice move to make to reset oneself and get away from that drama for a while, not to mention adding a new vibe to his music. to lean into mental health and depression and lack of boundaries, saying yes when you really meant no and being a people pleaser, impostor syndrome; so many things that were just a human-to-human connection that I felt if I spoke about that, that is something that can hopefully help people and that’s a book that’s worthwhile to make. Aptly names '22', the album included tracks such as 'DNA' with Galantis, 'Who You Are' with MNEK and 'My Heart's Been Waiting for You' with Duvall. also saw him team up with UK grime legend Kano for their collaboration 'This Is The Girl' that sampled Jay Z's song 'Big Pimpin'.I'm still learning, still a journeyman, with much to still absorb; still making mistakes, still striving.
