About this deal

He drops into the sleepy village of Much Barty, finding a post at St Barty's School as Class Three's new form-teacher, where he quickly befriends two of the children: Melanie Brace-Girdle and Thomas Grey. Trading Address (Warehouse) Unit E, Vulcan Business Complex, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EB.

The focus on this particular story centres on the main character of Mr Majeika, a teacher at St Barty's Primary School. Carpenter portrays an eighties school in a welcoming, recognisable way with moments and humour that would be relatable in the present. My favourite chapters were the ones where Mr Potter struggled to comprehend the impossible feats before his very eyes.

Undoubtedly the mixture of mystery and humour that catches the reader’s attention along with the well detailed illustrations of the main characters and important events is what makes this book so good. The first volume, Mr Majeika, was published in 1984 and was followed by Mr Majeika and the Music Teacher, Mr Majeika and the Haunted Hotel and The TV Adventures of Mr Majeika. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF. My 5-year-old loved listening to this, he's not old enough for Harry Potter, but this should lead nicely into The Worst Witch and eventually to Rowling's books.

Mr Majeika and Class Three find themselves in a creepy hotel near Hadrian's Wall, where some very spooky things start to happen. All the same, trickery becomes more and more necessary, leading Majeika, Melanie and Thomas into some remarkable adventures. Mr Majeika may teach at St Barty’s, an ordinary primary school, but he’s no ordinary teacher… Mr Majeika is a wizard!

As a rule, magic carpets don't turn up in schools, but this is exactly what happens when Class Three's new teacher flies in through the classroom window and lands on the floor with a bump. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. While I can't read these pages with the same boundless enthusiasm as when I was eight years old, I do appreciate Carpenter's storytelling style far better.
